52 Weeks of Prayer Information:
What does it look like to participate in iSHINE?
52 weeks of prayers. Start date is Tuesday, November 7, 2023 and end date is Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Yes, from Election Day to Election Day.
Each week, for five days, we will all pray over one state, starting with the Nation’s Capital and the whole country the first and last weeks and then following the states alphabetically for every other week.
DAY 1: We have provided key information for each state when you click on its tab. This includes the current governmental leaders so that we can pray for them specifically.
DAY 2: We can pray for our families, churches and schools.
DAY 3: We will pray for firefighters, police, military personnel, EMS workers, doctors, any other civil servants you wish to add.
DAY 4: We can pray for any local issues the state is currently going through or for a repentance and healing for the past issues a state has had through out it’s history.
DAY 5: We will pray unity over the state and over the whole nation.
**This is only a suggestion of how to pray for each week. I would love for everyone to be praying for the same things on the same days (Unity!) but I also want everyone who participates to follow as Holy Spirit leads you. This is meant to be you praying on your own, at any time of the day that works for you. We will have some prayer prompts to help if you do not know where to start. Also, a weekly email will be sent to you, if you have signed up to receive it, which will include any current events that may need prayer.**
If you are comfortable to do so, I recommend pairing up with a prayer partner to pray with. It is a way of walking out unity together and also accountability if you want it.
“‘For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in the midst of them.’” Matthew 18:20

Prayer for National Unity
From The Power of a Praying Nation, Stormie Omartin
“Lord, You have said that if even just two of us can agree about anything we ask that You will do it. I see how important it is for people to be in agreement and unity. I pray that You would instill in every American the desire to be in unity with other Americans. May there be mutual respect, friendship, and brotherly love among the people of this great land. Help us each to do our part to bring peace on earth. Give us a national conscience to clearly distinguish right from wrong with regard to how we treat one another, and work in us a willingness to choose the right way. Give us “a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably'“ (Hebrews 13:18)
Lord, You have made America a large diverse family of many beautiful colors and a tapestry of cultures. Just as in a healthy family where we learn to appreciate each member’s uniqueness because we want to preserve the family, I pray that in the family of our nation there would also arise appreciation and respect for the uniqueness of each individual. Help us to celebrate our differences as qualities that keep life intersesting. Specifically I pray that all racial hatred and discrimination be completely uprooted, exposed, and eliminated. May the fire of Your Holy Spirit burn and destroy such ignorance and cruelty. Break down barriers that divide every ethnic and racial group in this nation. (emphasis added is mine)
Lord, You have said in Your Word, “how good and how pleasant is it for brethren to dwell together in unity" (Psalm 133:1). Help us to be unified with each other in our families, our marriages, and our communities. Help us to be unified with our leaders. Keep our leaders in a place of unity among themselves. I stand against the plans of the enemy to bring division within our country and pray that disunity will never be allowed to tear our country apart. (emphasis added is mine)
Just as our nation has grieved together, may we learn to rejoice together, too. I pray that the critical, cynical spirit that has been resident in this nation for far too long be stopped. Where it has become fashionable to criticize leaders or people who are different from us, may it become an embarrassment to those who do it. Lord, I know Satan comes to destroy by dividing, and to create disharmony thorough ignorance and hatred. I pray that Your Spirit of love and respect would prevail in this country instead. I pray that we will be called the “Repairer of the Breach” (Isaiah 58:12). In Jesus’ name I pray.”
AMEN!
